Nashville, TN (November 10, 2009) - Word Distribution releases Living With Unmet Desires: Exposing the Many Faces of Jealousy by Shawn Lantz today, November 10, 2009. Using the well-known story of King Saul, the book explores the nature of jealousy and how individuals can recapture their faith in God.
In a culture which tells us we must have more to be accepted, it’s easy to become a victim of jealousy’s lies, either as its perpetrator or its casualty. Living With Unmet Desires is a nine-week Bible study and includes personal, daily assignments designed to help readers make Godly choices on their way to living victoriously with unment desires. Speckled with personal stories and first-hand accounts of the miracles of the Lord, Living With Unmet Desires is a priceless tool that helps bring truth, faith and serenity into readers lives.
“When you meet Shawn Lantz, you instantly connect with her faith and her mission. Her words and her life reflect the Lord’s touch. We are proud to represent her as an author.” states Mark Funderburg, Word Distribution. “Working with Shawn has been a wonderful way to start our venture into the world of book publishing.”
Shawn has been leading groups of churches in the nine-week study through the past months and according to one participant, “I have never been so drawn into a Bible story as when she (Shawn) is reading aloud from the Bible. Her passion and understanding of the Bible has left me craving more!”
Based on a personal life experience that Shawn walked through in her own life, Living With Unmet Desires addresses issues and experiences that many women live with but rarely recognize or acknowledge in their day to day lives.
From Shawn’s words of thanks to her own sister-in-law, “Because of what has happened between us, I know Jesus Christ can transform a relationship once based on jealousy, to one which thrives on love
and mutual respect. Because of you, I know that He is able to reconcile two people through His scandalous, extravagant grace and knit their once-distant hearts together.”
Growing up on the mission fields of Africa, Shawn has had an incredible impact on hundreds of women through her own life stories, as well as through her family experiences, lifelong faith & trust in God and her own communication abilities resulting in incredibly impactful ministry.
Shawn Lantz is a popular writer, teacher and speaker on the topics of faith and God. After spending most of her youth living in the Democratic Republic of Congo with her missionary parents, Lantz founded Esengo Ministries in order to spread her belief in the Lord to women everywhere. “My passion is for women to know and experience the abundant life that Jesus offers all of us,” says Lantz. She also points out that in Lingala, the national language of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the word “esengo” means “joy.”
Her first book, Congo Vignettes, was released in 2008. It is comprised of stories about her grandparents, parents, and siblings, and how their faith in God has allowed them to bring hope to many people in the Congo and here in the United States.
