ROGERS & COWAN

Dear Media,

New York Times bestselling author Harville Hendrix and his wife Helen LaKelly Hunt are committed to helping couples discover God’s purpose in marriage.

From their experience in pastoral care and 27-years of marriage to each other, they found that committed marriage partnership can be one of the most accessible ways of experiencing God’s love.  As a result, Harville & Helen have created their most recent project, A New Way to Love: Living God’s Purpose for Your Marriage, an educational program that lifts the Biblical commandment to love and teaches couples a step-by-step process to embrace their marriage as a container for God’s deeper purpose of healing.

With over 40 years of experience as an author, educator, clinical trainer and public lecturer, Harville has received many awards for his work with couples and his books have been translated into more than 50 languages.  Harville and Helen’s combined marriage programs have been implemented in 30 countries by more than 2000 therapists, which continues to grow.

Harville has made 17 appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show, one of which won Ms. Winfrey her first Emmy Award and his first appearance on the show was ranked by Winfrey as one of her Top 20 Moments.   Harville has also appeared on numerous additional broadcast & print media outlets worldwide and continues to be one of the most sought after speakers and experts on marriage throughout the world.

When Harville and Helen collaborated on the bestseller, Getting the Love You Want: A Guide For Couples 22 years ago, it was only the beginning of what has become their life’s work, putting them at the forefront of a new and quickly expanding marriage movement & platform.

Recognizing the great need throughout the many years of their intense marriage examination and experience, Harville and Helen were compelled to create A New Way to Love.  The DVD-based educational program can be used as a church curriculum as well as by couples at home. Couples will:

  1. Learn a new way to talk and a new way to listen
  2. Co-create a relationship vision
  3. Acquire the skills to effectively live out this vision
  4. Uncover the opportunities for emotional healing and spiritual growth
  5. Understand how to align yourself with God’s purpose for marriage
  6. Practice a new way of talking that dissolves conflict and sustains connection

We know that your part in influencing lives in numerous ways, often reaching areas that affect marriages, whether peripherally or directly, is an important part of your work and ministry and we would so appreciate you taking a look at the enclosed manuscript and considering coverage along with our efforts.

I hope to speak to you soon, to set up an interview with this fascinating couple!  Thanks so much!

Kindest Regards,

Lesley Burbridge-Bates
